Carmel Convent, Mayurvihar, Delhi

The Convent which was established in 1991 at old Rajindar Nagar in New Delhi was shifted to Mayur Vihar in 2002. In the budding stages of this mission our sisters got an opportunity to work in Holy Family Hospital in Delhi. The Marriage bureau run by the diocese also was entrusted to our Sisters.

When we had shifted our Convent to Mayurvihar the marriage bureau’s responsibilities were taken away from Sisters and thus a Nursery School and a Day care centre were started there to render their services to the local as well as the parish people. The children below five years are well nurtured and cared by our Sisters. They take special care in the faith formation of these little ones.

It is also note worthy that our Sisters dedicate themselves to their selfless service of the parish activities. Our Sisters assist in all spheres of the parish which is formed out of 480 Malayalee families. Sisters are engaged in catechism classes, Altar boys association, Youth wing, Matruvedi, unit prayers and all other activities of the parish. Also our Sisters arrange seminars and awareness sessions to the malayalee nurses and women of their parish. It is of course praise worthy to note that these services are rendered by our Sisters to the people of Delhi who have migrated to Delhi for their livelihood.

By God’s tender mercies we began our Silver jubilee year by an inauguration on July 16th, 2015 and celebrated a splendid Silver Jubilee on 12th October 2016.

On the auspicious occasion of Jubilee year, by our loving God’s wonderful faithfulness and providence, the Convent could purchase a flat and extend its area. Invoking divine blessings for the golden journey ahead we give all the glory to our Abba Father, who has given us success in all our endeavours and challenges in the Silver years.
